It's almost a travesty that there is no running water and creeks/waterfalls in this game with such huge environments. Originally posted by Paleo Jake:They should totally add waterfalls and running water, there are much older hunting games that have such features. But thanks for creating the thread anyway. Implementing running water just to add a couple creeks here and there in the new reserve only? Not worth it. If it happens, all the best, but I'll be elsewhere meanwhile. But I won't waste my time in dreamland about it. I would much prefer theHunter 2 would only be theHunter 2.0, the same game (don't have to buy it again), with a bunch of updated features and reserves. It's just disappointing to see so much potential not being realised.

It was worth the money, no complain there. I'll buy this last reserve, finish the most quests I can, and play something else. The honeymoon is over, time to move on soon (at least for me). As well as play this game less and less also. I'm starting to figure that out, and I'll most likely frequent these forums less and less. Not a big Online MMO with a subscription plan. This game is digital retail, let's not forget. So to make sense, they would kind of need to modify almost all maps on top of it. Because in my opinion, it doesn't make sense for the majority of reserves to not have ANY creeks and small waterfalls with the large scale they've got.

Some studios would update their engine to support new stuff, these guys won't.Īnd you know what? At the point we're now? We might as well just forget about it. Now the engine is not developed anymore, just more or less maintained. You know what I think? I think they just met a deadline when creating the engine, and ditched this feature, if it ever was brought to the table at the beginning in the first place anyway. I just can't comprehend how an advanced 3D game engine these days couldn't be able to handle running water. That being said I have no damn clue if the game engine supports running water, but even if it doesn't they could still use particle effects to make a waterfall that feeds into a lake. Now with the ecology ♥♥♥♥ out of the way, I honestly have no idea why they wouldn't put at least one or two creeks in that feed into a low elevation lake, while ponds filled by rain and the water table do make-up a significant portion of the water sources in the mountains, it isn't ONLY those ponds, and I too would like to see one. Birds can cheat death of course because they can still remain hidden while drinking. Therefore with the exception of bobcats, bears, and just about every species of North American upland fowl known to man animals tend to avoid places like that due to the risky nature of the area. This is because mountain lions like to ambush in thick wooded areas, particularly near water, and most animals would prefer to avoid that risk and take the less-dangerous route. Animals will occasionally congregate at these creeks to drink but most of the time they look for small ponds with open space around them to drink. Most of the running water in the mountains is teeny tiny creeks and streams that essentially do a reverse delta feed into the Platte or Arkansas depending upon location. So, here we come to the lack of streams and creeks yet again, although this time it is less of a nuisance, apart from the aesthetic aspect that is. The hundreds of rivers, streams, and creeks throughout this part of the state feed into these two rivers, which follow the decrease in elevation from the plateau and eventually end up in the Mississippi's water table. There are a number of rivers here as well but the main two are the Arkansas and the Platte. The direction of flow is important considering that Silver Ridge Peaks seems to be based on the environment of the Eastern slope which eventually becomes foothills and then the Great Plains. Ida, and flows down the Western slope into Utah and later through Nevada and Arizona before emptying into the Gulf of California.

However, the Colorado's source is near Mt. I'm going to assume most of the complaint about the lack of running water is because the Colorado River (as it is so aptly named) starts here in Colorado. Heads-up, i tend to type a lot so if you're impatient skip to the final paragraph. I note that a few people are somewhat miffed about the lack of streams, creeks, waterfalls and other running-water features on the new map, so I've decided to divulge some geographical information about my state.
